Green-minded experts from India and Taiwan recently discussed how to better and more quickly reduce carbon emissions that cause climate change and foster sustainable development at the 2023 Taiwan-India Exchange Workshop on Sustainable Renewable Energy and Smart Energy Storage Technology.
Co-hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council, the Exchange at the Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi on September 6 was part of the International Conference on Carbon Neutral Technology for Sustainable Development, or ICCNTSD.
“The purpose of the Conference…is to build a platform on renewable production and utilization, smart energy storage, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage-based technologies, circular economy and other sustainable technologies in industrial and academic areas,” said the ICCNTSD website.
Subjects discussed at the event featuring researchers, students, and others included innovative analytical technologies, biogas, carbon dioxide capture, circular economies, hydrogen, hybrid energy storage, metal-carbon dioxide batteries, and sodium-ion batteries, the Taiwan News reported.
Participants in the discussion noted how Taiwan has deep domain expertise in hydrogen and other net-zero technologies. Indian researchers, meanwhile, are global leaders in fuel cells and electrical energy storage. Both sides could learn from each other, they concluded.
“This workshop would create a win-win situation with more exchanges and cooperation opportunities between Taiwan and India,” the ICCNTSD website said. ce/jd
