Vaduz/Zug - The Office of Economic Affairs of the Principality of Liechtenstein is now also supporting companies with projects in the areas of resource efficiency and the circular economy. To this end Reffnet has been brought on board as a partner. The Swiss resource efficiency network consults with businesses on how they can save materials and cut costs.

With immediate effect, Liechtenstein is supporting its manufacturing industries with the smart consumption of materials and energy. According to a press release, the government has now approved the conclusion of a service agreement with Reffnet to provide competent consulting services

The Office of Economic Affairs of Liechtenstein has been entrusted with implementation responsibilities. As its partner, the Swiss resource efficiency network will provide companies with specific advice on material flows, the circular economy and food waste.

The Reffnet association comprises various organizations and businesses and is co-financed by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment. Over the next few weeks, eligible companies will be informed about the new support services via mailings and announcements on the website of the Office for Economic Affairs.

In terms of its motivations, the Office for Economic Affairs states that the issue of resource efficiency is particularly of interest when additional benefits such as a reduction of operating and production costs, shorter throughput times and improved product characteristics can be achieved alongside cutting the consumption of materials and energy. In this case, the competitive standing of companies can be enhanced, as the press release explains: “For this reason, sustainable business activities in general and the circular economy in particular represent core focal points for the government’s location promotion measures”. ce/mm
