Pune - Suzlon Group will build 33 wind turbine generators on hybrid lattice tubular towers for green energy provider AMPIN Energy Transition in Rajasthan’s Fatehgarh district. The devices are manufactured in India and will each generate 103.95 megawatts of wind power in total.

Indian power companies are moving forward with their plans to expand the country’s renewable energy production.

Suzlon Group, India’s largest manufacturer of renewable energy devices headquartered in Pune in the state of Maharashtra, will provide AMPIN Energy Transition with 33 S144-140m wind turbines that generate 3.15 megawatts each. The turbines use doubly fed induction generator technology, or slip-ring generators that easily vary rotor speeds.

"We are at the forefront of India's renewable energy revolution, steadfastly expanding the reach and impact of sustainable power,” said Pinaki Bhattacharyya, managing director and chief executive officer of AMPIN Energy Transition according to a press release. “This partnership is a significant step towards our goal of advancing India's energy landscape towards a more sustainable and renewable future."

The wind turbines exemplify Suzlon's investments in research and development to improve turbine performance, harness more energy in low-wind areas, and cut costs, said Suzlon Group Chief Executive Officer JP Chalasani.

"I am glad that AMPIN Energy Transition has reaffirmed their faith in us for this crucial project in Rajasthan,” said Chalasani. “It is a matter of pride for us that Suzlon's technology, end-to-end solutions, and services perfectly align with our customers' needs and expectations."

Vivek Srivastava, who serves as chief executive officer for business in India at Suzlon Group, noted that the partnership showed how hybrid renewable energy projects were now the cornerstone of India’s sustainable energy transition.

“Every Suzlon turbine is manufactured in India through a thriving domestic ecosystem, which is a testament to 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat,' contributing to a greener world,” said Srivastava.
